Summary

Although effective in trials with captive loggerhead (Caretta caretta) and Kemp's ridley (Lepiochelys kempii) sea turtles, blue-dyed bait is not effective in reducing olive ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) and green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) bycatch in longline fisheries in Costa Rica.
